Hi everybody

My partner just bought a mk3 mini project and I'm guessing I'll be doing much of the work so here I am.

Car has no identification tags only the engine number so not entirely sure of year but is an 850 and has Leyland badge on side.

We live in New Zealand so I'm not sure if our models were the same but the engine number is 85H387 HI35479, if anyone has any info that would be great.

Thanks for letting me join, looking forward to learning about this cool wee car :proud:

That is a cool online tool, thanks. I thought all 850s had 3.76 final drive but showing 3.44 for my mine. also HS4 carb which would make it late 70s? any idea what year the HS2 was replaced?

My car has the long bent gearstick like early ones, old classic style steering wheel, one switch stalk and hinged rear side windows with stainless surround. Its giving me mixed messages

Maybe the New Zealand ones are knocked together out of whatever was in the parts bin at the time? O_O
