Afternoon all, advice and guidance required.... Had my sportspack restored, nut and bolt-a process that has taken a few years. Got it back last august and had a few issues, a snag list if you will which for the most part have been addressed, the car has done about 500 miles and I noticed a rubbing sound on full lock, it was only when i took the front arches off to be painted again (Stonechips, have since been PPF'd) I noticed the tyre has rubbed against the arch where the new front panel and wing meet. Car is fitted with hi-los but set to standard ride height, new rubber cones that are bedding in, could explain a drop in height and cause the rubbing issue?

Do you know if the new front panel and wings were trimmed to clear 13” wheels like the factory did?

Has it had a new or replacement steering rack. I believe there is a special steering rack for sports pack models with limiters fitted . Also what wheels and tyres have you got as the offset may be allowing the wheels to sit further out.

As far as i am aware its the same steering rack from new as issued by rover, running standard sportspack wheels and 175/50/13 tyres, just had a call to say there is possibly a template as mentioned above available from minispares as a guide of how much to modify to ensure clearance. Looking at older pictures of the car when it was being stripped and looking at it now there is a marked difference in clearance!

Appreciate the responses, its given me a few things to check on the car to see whether they could be applicable...

sports pack cars did not run standard height but were raised slightly.
