Hi, there is a recently posted video on youtube with a guy showing off his latest purchase, 1965 mini cooper S (white in colour with black roof) The car is fitted with side mirrors that look like they are attached to the front sliding window glass maybe using an extended screw from the catch mechanism. I have never seen ones like it before. Were they original or period mods. Can they be still sourced from somewhere? Thanks in advance.

They can also be fitted to the later door mirror mounts, as on mine.

Just removed the oblong 1980 on mirror and these were bolted in their place.

Ye that was l2b last year. I had my eye on them. I think the mini sport ones are the type that clamp to the seam

Yes, they slide. Therefore you only open the first glass a little bit and have the second glass wide open. The problem is that they are not very practical (due to small size) and passenger mirror is a pain to get in the right angle (mine is not quite right and I left it just because of looks better having both mirrors).
