Starting My Mini Up

Hello,
New Mini Owner here having just purchased my first ever Mini which is a stunning 1997 Mini Cooper with a 1275cc MPI engine.
The car needs minimal work which I have already tasked to a local mini expert in my area but there are a lot of little jobs which I hope to attempt myself.
I also have lots of silly new-mini-owner questions which I hope I can ask on here and find some answers!

welcome! Car looks like mine, a 1990 cooper. Same colours etc. The forum is very helpful, so I'm sure your questions will be answered.
