Hi everyone,

My Clubman has a strip of rubber on the front catch panel and I figured it was there to reduce any possible rattling of the bonnet. I was wondering if this was standard and if anyone else had any pics of something similar fitted to their cars?

Thanks,

Vinay

There wasn't any rubber on my clubman...I'd say someone has put it there to reduce the possible rattle as you said

Thanks! Yeah, then it was probably exactly that. It seems to do the job quite well and doesn't look unsightly.

I have a rubber strip fitted to mine, it seems to stop any rattles from the bonnet?

Our Local Clubmans had a rubber weather strip that was fitted to the engine bay side of the lower windscreen panel, in the same place as JXC's above.

No. 30 in this diagram

This may have only been fitted to the Australian produced cars ?

The Rubber section had a U section to clip over the metal edge of the panel and also a high raised lip that would contact the underside of the bonnet when it was closed.

Thanks! The one on my car is actually just a strip of rubber on the catch panel. This strip seems more useful. Looks like these two part numbers would be worth getting?

Not sure where this would go?

or this?

I would think I would need one for the front of the bonnet (which might be there) and one on the rear? Does there need to be a rubber piece on the body and one one the bonnet on either side?

The jrc7008 rear seal did not fit my 75 clubman by a camel ride and lifted the rear of the bonnet 5mm. After measuring the gap at the back with the bonnet closed I found this on eBay and it fitted perfectly.

Thank you :) I will remove the MS part from my cart. I should check if I can find something locally with the same profile.

Here is a photo of both fitted to my Contessa! neither prevent the bonnet from closing properly.

Having said that I started doing bodywork on minis in 1962 HaHa!

I use Minispares for more or less all my parts, back in the day when we could source factory parts

inc Special/Tuning parts was a different world.

That listing has ended Chris.  Supposedly the seller has relisted, is this one the right dimensions? https://www.ebay.co....em=333627504896

Yes that's the one that fitted mine. I would measure yours before you order. Measure the scuttle bottom to the top of the bonnet.
