Rear Backplates - Washers Between?

Best Answer GraemeC , 20 July 2020 - 11:30 AM

Sounds wrong to me.
There should be washers (or a distance piece) between the backplate and the handbrake cable retaining plate for the front bolt though

1972

When I dismantled the backplates off the rear radius arm, I pretty sure that the two front bolts had plain washer between the backplate and the radius arm. This means that there was a gap between the back plate and radius arm at the leading edge.  This was both sides and I'm pretty sure this is origianl.

Bolt>backplate>washer>radius arm>lock washer>nut.

The rear bolt had no washer (just the lock washer).

Is this right? Or should the backplates be against the radius arm mounting?

Just back from the workbench to say I had a brainfart!

Forgot the handbrake brackets and it all became clear! Thanks anyway
