I did see the bonnet strap threads but this goes beyond that. my question is if I were to make holes in the bonnet for a strap or I have seen badges screwed on the sides. How do prevent that exposed metal hole area from the elements? I don’t want it rusting underneath where I can’t see. Does that make sense?
Thanks

If you paint any exposed metal you can reach and use a sealer (Hylomar?) on bolts/screws you should be OK. If you're making a hole into a box section you could spray paint or waxoil in it before you cover.

Im using as spray product at call FluidFilm which is a lanolin base for automotive corrosion protection. It is generally used as undercoat and cavity sealing. Seems to stay where applied.
