Hi, so I’ve had my mini restored and stupidly forgot to ask to get the wings cut as I have 6x12 wheels. What is the absolute maximum size wheels I can get that won’t scuff the inner wing or the arches without cutting them?
Thanks

Depends on many things from ride height and suspension set up and the wheel set up. The actual 6x12 means little  as the ET of the wheel has greater affect.

Fit them and see but very likely with a 6x12" rim of any kind, a 165 tyre and a normal or low ride height.....then make the necessary adjustments or look for different wheels, if you have to cut the wings some local paintwork will be required and wheel arch extensions will also need fitting, especially with a 6" wide rim.

Ok. Is there a simple way to find that out?

Ok thanks. Would 10x6 be better? I’ve heard that size doesn’t scuff but you still get the width?. I popped into the garage today to ask to get them cut but it was going in for primer today so was too late. Which means I would then have to have the wings painted again after being freshly done which is a nuisance.

Even 10x6 can scuff them. As said before ET has impact as well. I have 10x6 GB fitted and they just scuff the front side of the arch when turning...
