What's your idea of best? The toughest, most damage resistant and invulnerable paint is polyurethane over epoxy primer - but this type of paint is tricky to spray, expensive, and very poisonous. It must not be sprayed without proper safety equipment.

If you have no limits on resources then polyurethane is what I'd recommend.

I'm a painter and work on a few minis.

I've used stonechip, raptor (truck bed liner) and a stone-chip like undercoating from Teroson.

Raptor is a current favourite from people and dries very hard. Possibility of being brittle under the car's flex.

Stone chip is rubbery so is a good option but have to then paint over it.

The best I can think of is using Teroson 2000HS as it's a rubber and resin-based underbody which is overpaintable.

The easiest would be Raptor bed liner (Other brands are HB Body, Cobra (Cobra is my Go-To)) because you can buy a tintable version if you want to have the underside a certain colour.

The process for all of them is the same:

Prep the underside to bare metal (or sand existing paint to 180grit max)

Apply 1-2 coats of Epoxy Primer and let dry for 1 hour

Apply 2-3 coats of underbody

Wait 1 hour and apply paint (if not using Truck bed liner)
