Shocks For Bounce Reduction

Best Answer whistler , 31 July 2020 - 08:26 AM

I run standard rubber cones with KYB gas_adjust at the front and standard shocks at the rear. Seems to work fine. Some passenegers have remarked that it's a much more comfortable ride than their own mini.

Running 18 month old Red dot cones at front and old standard cones at rear with good standard shocks. Too bouncy for my liking.

I'm looking to retain compliance but stop bouncy ride. Do kybs achieve this without being harder than the standard shocks? Or do I need to go save up and go adjustable?

I run kyb all around on regular cones. It was substantially less bouncy than the factory shock I had on prior. It is a bit more firm but nothing crazy. My wife says its less like a pogo stick now.

Another vote for KYB from me.  Cuts down on the choppy ride.

How low is the suspension at the front, and how much room is there till the top arm hits the bumpstop?

Still bedding in at the moment, so not low at all and plenty of room need to drive some more and then adjust the hilo’s

Took a bumpy route to convince Jen just how much The Moo rides like a kangaroo. Worked a treat.

Bagged a front pair of new kyb silver gas a just for fifty quid inc p&p off ebay just now and looking forward to trying them out

Newbie question: Do the Red Dot cones require HiLos or can they fit/work with standard trumpets? Both front & rear?

Thx.

The red dot cones do require hi-lo's as they are higher:

Well chuffed! Fitted the front pair of kyb silver and set off down a bouncy local road.

Massive improvement over standard in terms of rebound control. Bumps that were verging on painful for my wife (she has MS) are now hardly there and around town so much smoother
