Presume you mean central oil pick up pipe. I'd say yes if you've got the box stripped and plan some spirited driving.

More clarity needed. But if as above. A must.

A magnetic filter/trap.

Mixed feelings on these - if they do pick up a decent amount of swarf then they effectively block the oil passage off.

However, cleaned regularly they probably do a reasonable job of helping the oil pump not ingest stuff, but they are in a sod of a place to remove for cleaning.

You can get the ones without the gauze which I feel are slightly better - I don't see what purpose that serves here.

I've got the one without the gauge and modified a 'gold's sump plug with the extra strong magnet to fit. It probably collects 1/3 of the amount of debris that the gold sump plug collects. I change the oil every 1000 miles, removing that rear plug involves removing the drive shaft to gain access to the plug.

It was easy enough to install with the engine in the car and the drive shaft removed. Follow the instructions and only remove one bolt at a time from the diamond shaped plate on the back of the gearbox and install the adapter plate one bolt at a time, you can't risk the oil pick up pipe falling off within the gearbox or you'll end up removing the engine and and splitting it from the box to refit the pick up pipe. As mentioned previously I need to remove the drive shaft to remove and refit the plug.
