Hi Guys,

I could'nt find an answer to my following question:

Why has my Mini two filler neck's on it? It was sold as a LHD, is this the reason?

It only has one fuel tank on the left hand side installed but a second neck on the right side...

I guess all Mini's had the neck on the right side from factory (like they didn't made sheets without?) and only the LHD's got a second neck?

Is it reasonable to weld the one on the right hand side shut?

Thanks!

All Minis had the tank on the left. The Cooper S had one rack side. Others had the second as an option.

you can still buy dummy necks so your can can look like it has two tanks.

Also your car has many non standard features and work done on it.

non standard exterior mirrors. Is has had the side seams removed and I guess much much more.

@sonik It's a 1977 MK4 :)

@nicklouse Okay, I will check how a 77 MK4 has to look, didn't know that for now, but as it's going to be a rallye lookalike I think that's fine.

Probably it's some 80's or 90's tuning, as it is out of service since 1994, especially with that other mirrors, someone may wanted to build a cooper lookalike?

If you have deep pockets you can attach this to your filler neck https://www.minispar...ic/21A2183.aspx

I find it odd that anyone would fit a dummy filler cap to the driver's side? Bizarre, tanks are expensive but worth fitting just for distance alone.
