Hi everyone!

I've recently had my body painted in Speedwell Blue / Old English white, but I can't seem to decide on the interior colors. I've gathered quite a few interiors now, got a black/red Cooper interior, a black/white Monaco set, black Alfa Romeo GTV seats and still fail to picture what looks best. I'm quite set on using the Alfa GTV Momo seats, as they look period but fresh. These come in Black, Red, Tan/Brown'ish and White (rare).

I've seen a handful of images of Speedwell blue Mini's, but those tend to be MK1 coopers with period correct seats. Before I actually order any more seats, headliners, carpets, door cards, etc. etc. I was wondering if people have any suggestions and/or reference pictures of what looks great in a speedwell blue car. By no means does this car have to be period correct, it's an early 80's shell with MK1 rear lights etc. so feel free to speak your mind. For the dashboard I've currently got a new Rokee center binnacle dash laying around, but I'm not a 100% on this either. The old coachbuilt cars from places like Wood & Pickett are usually a big inspiration to customizing things properly, but none of those came in a light blue  =]

Pic of the car in it's current state for reference:

(and yes, the person who I've bought the project from prior to painting seam welded the panels under the headlights  >_< )

How about a full Red interior including carpets - I'm sure I saw something similar in one of the mini mags but it was a long time ago and I don't recall which issue so I cant find it easily

I used to have the same color scheme on my 82 city with the black Alfa GTV seats. Now though i think i'd be trying to make it look more standard,   :shifty: even though the Alfa seats are way more comfortable. At the end of the day its all bolt on stuff so you can always change it.

Cheers! I've done some digging on the net for these options.. My favorites are currently either Tan (but unsure what carpet/door cards) or red/black, where i'd have black seats, dash and door cards, but red carpet/seat belts.

I do like the look of a full red interior on the light blue, but sitting in one... is a bit much red.

Compiled an album for future reference, attached to this post. Any additional images of tan/white interiors would still be welcome :-)

Your exterior colour scheme is the same as mine.

I've got grey and cream interior which works well. Have a look at some of the photos towards the bottom of this page:

Ignore the black seats as they need swapping out.

Oh whoa those doorcards in combination with the white roof / speedwell blue do finish the look! That almost tempts me to get white seats and a blue/dark gray carpet.. Choices!

I like the red and black interior - which surprises even me! Otherwise the matching colour interior is a safe bet.

We have an azure blue metallic car which is a mid blue running cream seats. The combination works beautifully.

Did some crude photoshopping based on the feedback above.. I still lean towards red/black but I'm torn on what division (door cards, roof liner etc.)!

My personal favourite is the black seats with black cards and red carpets (top right picture)

Red cards/red carpets for me! Roof liner - that's a whole new problem - white/cream? otherwise the interior will be quite dark I'd imagine.

Just done my pick up in speedwell.
