Hi Guys, Im new to the club and was hoping to pick your brains for a minute.

Ive just installed an RC40 cat back exhaust to my MPI however there seems to be a gap between the the CAT mount and the cat itself.
When I removed the stock exhaust there was no gasket which as far as Im aware should be there? Ive fitted a new gasket and the exhaust seems to hang okay and doesnt seem to be leaking. Is this how it is supposed to look?

Thanks for taking a look.

Mine doesnt have a gap like that.

An Mpi is only supposed to have a gasket on one end and the Cat should have studs.

What's the the thing I've arrowed, in the picture?

I fitted the gasket following this diagram http://www.minispare...s.aspx?2~18~179

though that might explain why it doesnt fit..
the part you have arrowed is the flange at the end of the exhaust. Thanks for the reply

I've just fitted a stainless rc40, that looks fine to me, just presses into the 'cup' on the cat.
