looking for some advice..... how would you fit a new metal number plate to the front of an MPI mini? would you use double sided foam sticky tape or would you drill holes in the number plate and screw through?

wondering what the best look would be??

Tape is the best look, in my opinion.

Screws for OEM look, Pads for a clean look.

Metal plates for an MPI are not an OEM look, so you can go what ever way you prefere (which of course you can for plastic plates too!).

Maybe try pads first, and if you don't like it go for screws?

If you do use pads, make sure you use good quality ones and clean/de-grease the mounting points well.

Don't want to lose them when your out and about enjoying the car.

My ‘98 has metal number plates. I remounted the front plastic plate with stainless c/sunk screws to give some support then used sticky pads to mount the pressed plate over the original plastic plate.

Front plate bolts, there’s little surface area for the pads, and if you drive your Mini as intended it’ll fall off.

Rear plates 3m vhb tape
