Overflow Pipe On Hs4 Carb

Best Answer Chris1275gt , 02 September 2020 - 05:45 PM

I run a length of petrol hose along the bulkhead and down by the radiator with the rad overflow pipe.

Spounds like your carb was not originally a Mini or Metro one as that would require looping it over the carb.

No bog standard hs4 loops down behind the carb and onto the box section with a couple of cable ties behind the heater hose then down by the radiator. Go to the full post

Hi, can anyone help advise where the overflow pipe goes to on the HS4 carb, the feed pipe in the float chamber, overflow out of float chamber to where?? (where does it go from the carb to ?? ). it does not have a return path to fuel tank, and the only place i can see it going to is the carb body, but that does not seem right?

Mini Mayfair 1984

thanks in advance

John

Runs from the carb to a metal pipe that feeds it to the bottom of the subframe if my memory serves me right.

I just cable tie it away from the exhaust, usually over the top of the engine stabiliser then cable tie it to the brake pipe at the FAMwtf valve and to the bottom web of the subframe.

Hope this helps

Minis of your era had a metal pipe that ran to the front, secured by the clutch housing bolts.

Before that there was no pipe just a vent behind a little cover plate.
