1.3Spi Cooper Monte Carlo Won’T Start Any More. Help Greatly Appreciated

I have a couple of other thoughts. Make sure that the earth connection between the left tail light and the fuel tank is good and clean. If you still have problems after replacing the pump (hopefully not) check the voltage at the pump with the pump connected. If the voltage drops, the wiring has developed internal resistance and must be replaced. I had the problem with the radiator electric fan, voltage at the fan motor connector when disconnected, voltage disappeared when connected to the fan motor.

Looks like a tidy little car, glad that the pump kit has solved the problem you were having.

I believe that there were only 60 out of a total of 200 Monte Carlos which were finished in black, so pretty rare. What I found interesting was that all Monte Carlos were initially painted red. Black ones were resprayed in the factory, so ended up with extra thick paint.

I ever heard that about the paint. My car was all original paint when I bought it. I hit a deer a bit after and had to repaint. I'll have to ask my body guy if he remembers seeing red under the black. I cant imagine you wouldn't see that when doing bodywork.

And yes, only 60 black. I like the understated outside with the bold red interior:-)

Hi Ian,

The car hasn’t been advertised yet, but the lady owner wants to sell because she is moving house soon. She has just been in contact with a member of the local Mini club and he is putting the word around local enthusiasts. The car is well specified with many improvements and very low mileage (35k miles from memory). If you are interested I suggest taking any further discussion off line. I assume you are aware the car is in Southampton England?

Wow, that is low. If the car ever gets a formal ad with all the details, I'd love to read through it. Im over in the US...and already own one but alway love learning about other Montes, what they have on them and all that fun stuff.
