I'm in the process of patching up one inner wing and replacing the other but could do with some help as to what should actually be there!

Firstly, the offside which is getting a complete inner wing, has space beneath the scuttle, the only panels that appear to be there are the top of the inner wing which is spot welded to the rear edge of the scuttle. I can reach underneath all the way to the back of the scuttle:

The near side though has a horizontal closing panel (I think) beneath the scuttle possibly attached a short way down from the rear top of the inner wing:

As well as being quite rotten the bodywork has been seriously bodged in the past, I'm cutting out the bad work and replacing where needed and was hoping to save the near side inner wing and replace the whole panel on the offside,
I'm just not sure what should be up there! Should there be a separate closing panel at each side which gives the extended section to the scuttle where it meets the (outer) wing?

Stu.

Brilliant, as always a photo is wort a thousand words, I guess the drivers side has either rotted away or someone forgot to fit it!

I'll work through the nearside first before finally cutting everything out on the offside, I'm contending with quite an amount of 6mm plate that a previous owner in their wisdom thought was a good material to repair a Mini.
