Can You Paint A Leather Srs Steering Wheel

hi, i am restoring a 1997 mpi, the steering wheel is pants particularly the side light coloured sections. I know you can get leather paint. Anyone with experience of doing this?

Not steering wheels, but seats. Dyed my yank tank's seats. Holds up pretty well. It will need a sealer coat after because the sweat of your hands will certainly dissolve the dye again. Used angulus leather paint.

I had a quote from this company, to redo my mainstream Cooper steering wheel, I never did it in the end.

 

Every quote will be different, but it was £150 inc vat.

I can’t find the post now as it was on a Facebook forum but I believe someone refurbished their own using the company below. If you contact them they colour match to the leather from the make & model of the car, apparently their matches are good but I’m yet to purchase from them myself. Maybe worth a try, I think the dye costs around £25

I've used black Gliptone on the leather sections of my Mpi seats and it's very good.
