New TV series well worth a watch, as a change from restoring rusty Minis with hard to find expensive genuine and original parts...

Inside the Spitfire Factory 9pm More 4 today (Episode 1 of 6)
A look inside the workshop dedicated to resurrecting Britain's most famous plane - the 1943 Mark IX Spitfire - as a dedicated team restore a national icon and return it to the skies:-

Very interesting series - eye wateringly expensive parts!

No doubt there will be rivet counters arguing that "it shouldn't have that guage on a '43...."

For my 80th birthday earlier this month my family bought me a flight from Duxford in a 2-seat Spitfire.
So the dream of flying a Spitfire which I have had since I first flew solo in a Tiger Moth when I was 17 has finally been realised.
The whole experience was simply fantastic.
