Hello
1993 L reg Cooper SPI
Thermostat housing with the sandwich plate
3 bolts securing it all
1 bolt has sheared off in the block
I tried to get it out using a left-handed thread bolt removal tool, but failed miserably
I've now mostly drilled the bolt out
I have lost a few drill bits in the process
I have a tap set
Any advice regarding tap size, the need for a different bolt or even a different approach completely?
Is it a stupid idea to consider epoxy / GB weld securing a stud into the hole instead of trying to a cut a new thread?
And holding it down onto the stud with a nut & washer, with the two others still as the bolts as they should be?
Thanks
