Pre A 1275 Engine ready for a re build.   
Been in storage for a while, surfaces oil / greased.  
 
Nothing looks like its been modified, head looks like it will tidy up nicely but would be good to have a light skim to tidy it up properly. 
 
Item is located in Porthcawl South Wales, prefer collection but happy to help out (put on a small pallet)  if you want to arrange own courier. 
 
 
 

Pre A 1275 Engine Block - 12G1279  Casting Numbers 056

12G940 Head  Casting number 636 12A
 
CAM - Cant see any markings on this CAM - Fitting to convert Tri on end of CAM to Spline for oil pump on box. 
Both ends look look in great condition. 
 
Crank has 1871 stamped into it 
Both ends of the crank in excellent condition.  Taper has no marks. 
 
Con rods casting numbers 12G1307 / 8 A 166 
Pistons casting numbers 413 G2  and 19320 
 
Oil Pump (Cant see any part numbers)
 
Duplex timing chain and sprockets 
 
Bag of push rods
 
Bag of bits and pieces

How do you tell?  I only know it not an A+ due the the friend I'm helping clear a life time of collecting parts told me its not.

No reinforcing webs on the block is the quick observation to start with. Also different distributor mounting, alternator bracket mounting position and dipstick hole to name a few.
