Lead loading would be an option I would consider over filler anytime - but looking at your nickname that is probably yet not in your skill inventory

I don't think that lead loading or filler is necessary here.

It's going to be a case of correctly aligning the two layers to get rid of the gap between.

 

Problem with resorting to filling over it is you will loose the seam which is supposed to be visible.

Haha, that's cheered me up no end
I'm 44! My nickname came from the Mini i owned when i signed up. It's registration ended in JNR so got called Junior.
