Just acquired a 94 SPI and main beams do not come on. Is the main beam switch on the stalk? I can pull to flash but that's it. I was thinking pushing away would click on but nothing, so I dont know if I am using correctly.

That is correct, push away and they should come on. It is possible corrosion on the connections in the stalk preventing them from coming on. Take the stalk off the column and have a check of the connection

Check the connections in the stalk when on the main beam position, they burn up and can be cleaned with a needle file if they have not suffered excess heat, and lost there spring connection to make the circuit
