hello all, i am restoring an early mini (63) and am trying to work out the pedal parts.

Does the throttle pedal have a return spring? or does it use the spring on the carb to return it to the correct position. I am going to use a HIf44 carb if that helps.

The Mini always used the carb return spring to lift the pedal.

Hi Alan

Welcome to the forum

As Cal said, the Mini just uses the spring of the carb to help pull it back. It suffices enough to do the job

The later Minis (MPi) had a pedal return spring.
You should not need one for a HIF44 and adding one would make the pedal feel heavier.

thanks for all the replies. I did kind of think the carb spring would be enough!
