First buy the double window channel rubber (minispares) x2, and double window runner strip, x2,
And buy some polycarbonate (I had fronts left over from my red mpi mini that I didn't fit,
You will have to strip out window reg and window,
Prise off inner and outer trims,
Pull out the single channel rubber runner, my doors were already stripped out due to previous owner fitting the rally type polycarbonate with the small square 'hatch'
Buy a length of 20mm right angle alloy strip from b&q, its in the racks with wood strips/corner edging, in lengths of about 2.4metre less than a tenner,
Fit in the double channel rubber up around frame,
Cut a length (approx 31inch) as in my pic and screw in place, (I used number plate fitting kit screws for neatness) this will give you a flat surface to stick and screw the lower double runner to,
Cut the polycarbonate to make the sliding windows, (as mine where one piece mk3 polycarbonate)
I templated using paper onto one to see how far it would open (sliding half/demo) using a marker pen,
I g-clamped polycarbonate to a workmate/bench and cut using a wood handsaw slowish speed, much straighter than my jigsaw, sand edges when sized OK,
When happy with sizes, fit windows in top runners, fit bottom runner and slide onto the alloy right angle in door, align, check windows slide OK, pull off the white paper and stick in place,
Slide open windows each way and drill/screw down bottom runner using stainless countersink screws
Into the runner parts the the poly doesn't use,
Mine are fitted with out any catches, but drilled a 15mm hole to take a short rubber tyre valve as a handle/knob
2x sliding window runners £19.74 Inc vat each
2x upper door channel moulding mk1/2 sliding windows £9.42 Inc vat each
Plus x2 polycarbonate windows,
Plus various screws/handle/knobs
I finished off with a rubber strip stuck on outside to cover lower runner, using super strong double sided tape,
Hope this helps anyone ???
