Yes, old grease should come out at least one side of the pivot.
However, if the tube connecting the inner and outer bearings has split then you may have to fill up the hollow trailing arm before grease comes out.

Provided the grease tube hasn't split. You'll get the grease squeezing out at the opposite end of the radius arm. If it looks like clean grease you can stop injecting. That's the guide I use.

I used this one (same grease as Mike's but in a different container - there's a disk with a hole in these containers that makes it easier to fill some grease guns).

Yep, it sure is - and it comes out round the pivot bolt for the handbrake cable quadrant too.
