Hi there,

I was wondering if anybody can help, I am currently rebuilding my 1100cc engine and someone who previously owned this mini has painted the whole engine black and I want to change the colour of the engine. I was wondering where I am able to get engine paint from, also if anyone has any pictures of there engines in different paint colours so I can get an idea of what colour I want that ill be much appreciated. Also any pictures of your engine bay.

Many Thanks

Karl

Engine paint is available from lots of places - MiniSpares, Frost, Halfords.....- To be honest it doesn't have to be specific engine paint, Hammerite or even just 2-pack spray paint works well.

I've just used some from here and was really impressed with how well it went on a covered....

I have dealt with a company called Fascinating Finishes. They are based in Hull

Can't speak highly enough of their paints - very very good

The engine does not get hot. Any paint will be fine.

I think I’m going to have to order that paint in that colour and get the brushes. Are all the other parts in black painted to.

I sprayed my engine in aerosol gloss black it's been fine heat wise with no cracking or bubbling like high temp paints do.

I used regular rattlecan paint and then gave it a good and thick 2K Two Component Varnish, specifically montana brand. The result was amazing and lasting.

    engine looks great

How/what paint did you use for the 'stone effect' on the cam cover.

Also did you brush paint all the brackets? How did you get such a smooth coat?

Cheers
