Found myself with some time in between jobs and waiting on parts for others so decided to drag another one of my own sales cars out from the storage unit next door and make a start.
Its just your common average 90's mini sprite at the moment, Nothing too exciting, Redeeming features? well its a factory carb 1275cc manual so a good basis to build on, even if it is the asthmatic 60odd bhp version
WARNING - EXTREME GAFFA TAPE ACTION, NSFW.....
Made a start stripping it, so far so good, no nasty surprises
Floorpans are not too bad, mainly inner sills need doing along with some rust in the front floorpans outside the scope of an inner sill panel which could easily be made, but the neat freak in me is leaning towards a complete replacement floor
Boot floor appears to be solid at this early stage
But rear arches have gone
Doorsteps and outer sills will be done as a matter of course
Whipped the grinder out and lopped the front end off (not that it put up much of a fight!) to have a good look at the inner wings and make access to the door hinge bolts easier
scuttle ends gone as per, amazingly the middle is perfect which is highly unusual for a mini of this era, again I could repair these ends but both inner wings need attention at the top and removing the scuttle will make this easier
Passenger side inner wing is pretty clean and should repair nicely, drivers side is worse and I will have to make a decision later on as to which direction to take there
Thats about your lot at the minute, Plans are for a modified mk1 cooper s lookalike in a fast road spec
