I'm wondering what material the main gasket ( http://www.minispare...ss ... o search ) is made from? and also if the 'white' ones were actually white when new ? I'm looking into machining some white ones if I can source some suitable material.

 

 

Does anybody have a new fibre washer for the sliding window catches and would be able to measure the thickness of them? I have a used one and measures 0.9mm.

just measured a couple of mine (that have been fitted for a few months), and they're both a (small) fraction off 1mm

Thanks for measuring them. I'm looking at making my own, just didn't want to buy material thats too thick.

According to Somerford mini, the gasket changed from grey/white to black at the same time that the catches changed from chrome to plastic.

As for the material, they are a soft plastic or a firm rubber? Somerford sell them I believe

It's very hard to tell if it is soft plastic or rubber thats gone hard over the years
