I hope this is the right place to post this question.
I've been on this forum quite a while and love reading about all your bike engine conversions.
I have a front mounted vtec conversion and i'm after bigger front brakes. I know Z cars do a bigger brake kit with bells and discs. Does anyone here have any experience of them and how much they are?
Thanks
Paul

Just fitted them to a minus but haven't used them so can't comment on how good or bad they are. Also don't know the price as we purchased complete hubs from Chris for about £1000 (master cylinder was extra) but if you only want the disc/caliper kit then it's a lot cheaper. Ring Chris and ask as I think it varies depending on which hubs you have.

Z-cars do a kit
Wilwood callipers 4pot
Caliper mounting brackets
Mounting bells
260mm discs
Ebc Green pads
Connecting hoses
For £700 inc Vat
But KAD will do
6 pot callipers
Caliper mounting brackets and fastners
Mounting bells
265mm discs
EBC green pads
Braided connecting hoses
For £970 inc Vat
MRA minis quoted me £1229 inc VAT
For
Pads – EBC Green stuff
Disc rotor (pair) 260mm
Calliper (pair) Hi spec caliper
Bells
Calliper mounts
nuts, bolts and washers
Braided brake Pipes
Tie bars – HD std
Gusset plates
drive flanges (new)
Unfortunately MRA would only sell their kit with everything listed above
Im in the process of getting my own setup together and will let you know how i get on.
Cheers

Thanks guys. Mark you've just done all my research for me!!! Ta very much!!
I've got KAD 6 pots at the moment, but the kit that fits under 12" wheels. I'm going to get a rear disc conversion from Watsons which uses golf discs which would be bigger than my metro fronts :'( so i'm after a big brake kit.
Think i'll phone Chris tomorrow.
Pete how much clearance is there between the calliper and the wheel on the minus? and what wheels are you running?
Thanks
Paul
oh yeah, and i started off with the KAD big brake kit with bells and discs but they wouldn't fit under my 13" wheels

You have KAD 6 pots under your 12" wheels??? cant be right, they are on a 265mm disc!!!
Must be 4 pots on 8.4" discs?
Thats what i have, ok for the road but trackdays are a different story!!!

I have 13" compomotive wheels but due to having a k series based vtec frame i have a silly offset on the wheels.
I started with the big brake kit. But they hit the inner whell and the wheel wouldn't turn.
Type A kit

Type B kit

Might have a set of type A's for sale soon!!

Don't know what wheels will be on the minus yet but they fit under my 13 * 7s of the pickup with plenty of clearance.

Next time you go to the minus would you mind measuring from the center of the disc to the outside edge of the calliper?
Just so i can see if the calliper and disc will fit inside my wheels. Just so i don't end up buying something else that doesn't fit!!
Thanks
Paul
