hi. i brought a 91 H reg mini cooper 3 weeks ago. its in a very poorly state. the guy who had it before me didnt fit the straight through sports exhaust properly so that combined with a leaky carb equals a nasty under bonnet fire. i have a new bonnet for it so shes some way to getting fixed. thing is im on a tight budget (unemployed student) and she needs new wings, a new grill, a new clutch master cylinder and a new accelerator cable amongst other things. any ideas where i can get cheap but good parts from? the gods are telling me im not supposed to have this car. some little kids have set her on fire twice since ive had her. needless to say i cried! id really appreciate any help! thanx very much.

Doesnt sound as if you are having the best of luck there, sorry to hear it.

She looks nice in the picture.

As for cheap parts, have a look in our for sale section, go on ebay and just keep hunting for that bargain.

Hope you manage to get her back on the road! Good Luck.

If you need any help just post in the Tec section and you will get it.

welcome to the site, stinky little kids, u should go round and speak to their parents or beat them! whichever works best ! lol

AS for cheap parts, try getting a cheap front from a rear ended crash mini!

lol!! all very good suggestions but i actually phoned the police but they are only 7 and 9 years old so nothing can be done to them. not fair at all! im looking on ebay at the mo for any body panels going cheap. i just got a bonnet off there for £5 and its in pretty good nick. gonna go to some scrappies at the weekend and theres an autojumble at newerk (not sure if ne1 lives near there) so i may be able to get some bits there. i cant believe how helpfull every one is on here. i tried like 4 or 5 other forums and got no response so i am extremely greatful to every one. thanx very much.

Hi, sorry you're having so much trouble. Get the little :D taken into care, and their parents banged up.

If your engine has been burned be careful with it, 'because some rubber parts in engines turn into a lethal acid after they have been burned above 400 degress. Especially O-rings.

Hi Frenchie!!

I'm in the Nottingham area too... :D

Have you heard about the Notts About Minis club?? Real friendly people..

Also, I've used 2 mini specialist garages, Roy @ Nottingham Mini Centre at Lady Bay Bridge and Geoff @ SurfBlue in Giltbrook (NAM members get 10% discount here :D ) Both are really helpful...

If you want to know more about NAM or anything, email me..

Welcome to the site!!
