Hi,

I'm planning on putting Cooper stripes on the bonnet of my mini so which is the best way to do it? I originally thought that I could simply mask /spray then demask but i'm now considering buying off the shelf vinyl ones. Which option would you go for? I'm doing the roof Ford diamond white, because solid colour Rover diamond white was only available in two pack so that is the nearest they could mix for me.

Would the stick on ones be a completely different shade?
I've just finished spraying the bonnet, so if I go with the spray on option, how long should I give the paint before I can put masking tape on and how soon after applying the white should it stay on before I remove it?

So little time and so many questions.... :withstupid:

spud.

Personally i would use vinyl ones, as they could be removed easily if you ever wanted to, whereas if you painted them on, you would have to repaint the bonnet.

yes mate, use the vinyl ones, and difference in colour will be unnoticeable.

then if you want to remove them, warm them with a hair dryer.

also they will be the right thickness.

if you spray them the wrong size they will look naff.

you should stick them on about 3mm from the edge of the bonnet. any more and it will look naff.
