does anybody know whether it matters which way the alternator spins? :D basically could i mount the alternator as a mirror image of how it is mounted in a mini currently?

reason i ask is so i can make more room up front for a front mount rad.

If you mean to put the alternator out past the front of the engine where the side rad usually is, lots of racers do this. I think convention is to use an alternator from a Toyota pick-up or something like that. Or you could try getting a Brise one from Demon Tweeks (or somewhere cheaper!).

Just make up a bracket and have the alternator mounted upwards instead of downwards. Click this LINK to see what I mean...
