I've sorta introduced the car in my 'End of an era' thread in Mini Chat.

As the car has a 12 month MOT I am going to drive it around til xmas time. Then it is gonna come off the road and I am going to use the parts I have 'collected' for my other project.

Some of the parts:

3 into 1 exhaust:

1380 engine:

SC gearbox and drops, with Cross pin diff (3.444:1 FD ratio):

As I now have a car that has a 'higher' emissions tolerance for the MOT, I am considering going for a more racey camshaft.

I have a 286 in the ready built engine at the moment, with 1.5:1 roller tipped rockers. I have found out that a mate has a 300 degree camshaft for sale, so I am tempted with that bad boy (would work better with the 3 into 1).

The cylinder head is basically a stage 4/5 state of tune (big ports, big valves, going to be drilled for 11 studs).

All in all I think this is going to be the mini I have dreamed of owning for years and years! :w00t:

Other future mods are:

Drop back to 10" wheels with some nice alloy 4 pots (I can use the cash generated from the sale of the eight 7 x 13" superlights that I will now own). :w00t:

I am also going to sell the Corbeau Forzas that are fitted and fit my Cobra Classics instead. There is a Moss stainless DTm exhaust and link pipe that's coming with it (gonna be up for sale soon too). :P

weekends work then? :)

Well, I have two weeks of for xmas, so I am hoping to do it all then. The only thing I am not happy about is chopping the bulkhead to fit the Weber box. I may consider trying to swap it or sell it to get a pair of 1.5" SU's (twin HIFs would be nice).

This is going to be such a nice specced car! Classic original with something a bit special under the bonnet. Go for it Matt. P.S PM me with how much your considering selling 13x7s?

Yup, well, £192 to be precise. It's because it's on a classic car policy. That doesn't take any no claims bonus into account either (that is used on my daily driver).

And yes, I am an old man (still 6 years younger than the car though) :w00t:

The more I think about it, the more I am inclined to sell the two sets of 13" x 7" wheels (had loads of offers already) and also sell either these buckets, or the Cobra Classics that are in the garage. I also need to sell an CF bonnet, a GRP bootlid, a GRP MKI bonnet and a DTM exhaust. I might also sell the Metro Turbo 4 pots and disks/pads. Plus the 1275cc MG Metro engine out of it.

This is hopefuly gonna raise some cash towards some new 10" wheels and some nice alloy calipers. I am uncertain what to go for at the moment, but am leaning towards either some nice revos (black centre polished rim) or some speshul split rim bad boys. I think the split rims may lok a little out of place though. I might also ditch the sportspack arches and go for something a little more oldskool (maybe some old group 2s or something). :( :P

What do people think about which 10" wheels would suit it best? I even think Minilite style ones would look OK.
