getting mine resorayed in a few weeks time been quoted £800 for full strip down and prep including glass out and paint for an outside paint only. Is this about right i know you can get a spray for less but how much is the prep worth. Also is it better to fit new arches after or before spary?

That sounds extremely good to be honest! How much prep do you think is needed?

What kind of arches?

not much prep is needed as the paint is ok on the body its jsut the new front that needs paint but might as well make it all nice and shinny and its a change from black and white to black and silver. arches not sure yet pos gp2 wide or sportspack. prob sportspack because apparently if you dont have inner wings they are easier to fit.

My gut instinct sais stay away because this price astronomically lower than the norm, that is a VERY VERY good price.... which could mean a rubbish job.

however there are still some people out there making an honest living, delivering quality work for prices that aren't bum buggery... so you could hit it lucky with this company and get a cracker!

ask to see pictures of their previous work... £800 is very good...

it was a local mini specialist that gave me the quote he strips it down then gets some one else to spray it ive seen a car that was done by the same people according to him 4 years ago looks good. is it better to do the arches before or after the spray?

you fit the arches after the paint job... and if they're being sprayed too, spray them seperatley then fit them after the car's done...

The best way is to fit the arches (drill all holes line them up etc) and then remove them , spray the car (and arches if needs be) and then refit them , this way you dont risk scratching you nice new spray job fitting them and you get paint on your bare metal edges

£800 is a cracking price and kind of makes me think twice as its so cheap.... i was quoted a lot more to get mine done and in the end i just couldn't afford it. if i remember correct it was about £1200 for just the outside done in a matt colour. I also looked at previous projects and the ones he was working on and i must admit they were cracking!

Like retro said - have a look at previous work. If you go ahead with it let me know how you got on.
