Wooooohoooooo I love my little car! Turned 17 on Friday, got the logbook, insurance and tax too!
Went out for my first lesson (in the dark) with my Dad on Monday, got to grips with the minis direct steering, great grip, short throw gears and surprising torque, so its actually better than I expected it to be!
First instructed lesson on Wednesday, can't wait, but driving a shitty Fiesta, oh well at least its not a scurge of the earth awful Corsa.
Thank You Dad for buying me the car, taxing it, taking me out and being enthusiastic as we have a T&T mini in the family for a far too long period of time.
Thank You Mum for sorting out the driving lessons and letting me insure it in her name.
Thank You Tim & Claire (my bosses) for employing me so I can earn money for the car.
Thank You to every one on the forum for just being quality.
And finally Thank You to Helen Menzies who bought my 1275 Sprite Spi new from Evans Halshaw of Macclesfield on 24/11/1994 for setting it on its path to me, as I shall cherish it forever. Long live my Mini Sprite Spi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers I will. It really surprised me how much torque it had, as it pulled from 15mph in 3rd, handy for speed bumps. I thought that it would be virtually torqueless compared to the Citroen ZX turbo D, Rnage Rover and Merc 500 SEC that I usually get ferried around in.
More good news. The lads at the pub I work at invited me to go with them to the Stanley Pod cruise in a 400bhp EVO6, but I can't go as I have college in the morning, damn shame, but the offer is open ended, so I can go when I'm not so busy, and they said I should bring the mini along.
Might have trouble keeping up though. 400bhp EVO6, 212 Bhp R5 GTT, 160bhp VTEC CRX, compared to a 53bhp Mini. Oh well I'll waste em in the twisties....
