I was going to say learn on the wheels you plan to drive with, but as you learning and will be doing parrallel parking and the like there is a chance you might kerb the wheels. (Not saying your a bad driver, lol, but it could happen).
So go for the steelies as there not as expensive if you kerb the wheels.

Good point Charlie... and quite agree.
And Minidude... no offence, but where I live is a favorite for the "L" drivers 3pt turn, and reverse round corners practice...I've seen days where we've had 3 synchronised 3 point turns !! :nugget: you want to see the state of the kirb stones.
or even better, learn to drive in someone elses car

Gotta be steelies
Personally i'd ditch the 13's all togeather. But that just my opinion.

i doesn't matter what wheels you drive with..... i got my learners when i was 14 (3years ago) and my license when i was 16 (1.5 years ago) and i haven't ruined any wheels.....the trick is when you see a curb not to hit it!!!

it's the tyre width that makes it bad - with 145's steering is easy, but with 165's or bigger sometimes need gorilla strength to turn - I've got 2 mins - the 145's are much easier - they don't tramline either. Also on the 13's I guess the turning circle is smaller if you are using the sportpac rack - then it would be a 5 point turn!
I'd go for as small and thin as you can, then build up your shoulders at the gym if you want to pose.
