Hi people,

I own a Mini 1979 Mini 998cc which I bought in order to rebuild it which project I started this summer .

I had in between another one, 998cc too, but MK4 built in 1990 which I sold again for some years.

1979 Mini 1000

Was Canadian spec before restoration but I just couldn't live with the rubber bumpers. Going to be changing out the front drums for disc's this weekend and I am on the look out for a 1275 engine but they are hard to come by in my neck of the world.

I drive a 1980 Mini van, i used it for my business and went all over the country and even Europe in here, towing a trailer and hauling an entire trade stall. Using her for here original purpose.

Hardly ever let me down, and when she did it was the usual water in the dizzy cap or something silly and fixable on the roadside.

Now it's time to sell her I'm afraid, I'll be posting up on here in the van section in a bit.

Ive been offline for a while, so I thought I would say hello again :)

I've always had Minis. My first car 30 odd years ago was a Min bought for £50 and re-built by my Dad to make sure it was safe. I loved the way they can be worked on, and have stuck with them ever since. I am now on my second Pup (the first was sold for £300 to pay the bills but that's life eh?) My latest Pup is in the first stages of a well deserved restoration.

I do have a question....or two....My 1978 Pup has the wrong bonnet badge on it, what would be the correct one for the year? Does the colour of the badge reflect a year or season of build?

The Pup was first registered in June 1978. It is also registered as "Grey" Can anyone tell me the correct colour "Grey" please?

Many thanks

Russ
