Didnt manage to find any printed circuit boards for smiths clocks but we did buy Genuine British Motor Heritage front panel, wind screenscuttle, pair of wings and a pair of A panels as my fiancee needs to replace the front exterior panels on hers and it is just as easy to get them all done in one go and sprayed rather than messing about with the odd panel every so often.
Also, it is worth the extra cost getting genuine panels as the fit will be good which if you are doing it your self will make things easier and if paying some one to do it they won't take as long ,saving labour costs.
Iknow people who have got non genuine panels and they have fitted after much messing around and colourfull langage, they have got another nongenuine panel the same and had to throw it away as it would never fit.
So pay the extra and save the grief.
I was glad i wasn't capmping that night as it was bloody cold it was nice to see so many mini's though any way all for now.

As a matter of interest, just incase I get on with re-doing the front end of Schmoo. ( bit bent after I pit it in a ditch a couple of years ago :nugget: ), how much did that lot set you back, and was it from the BMH stand ???

And yes you were lucky you wern't camping... blooming windy it was !

I would be interested to hear how close those BMH panels are to fitting without any hassle. I would be surprised if they fitted with no problems at all.

Not having a go at BMH at all, they produce top quality panels. But surely a Mini that has been around long enough for the panels to go, has to have twisted and warped a little.

Anyway if you could let us all know when you get round to it, that would be great

Can you fit them tonight plz

i am ordering my BMH panels from minispares tomorrow, and if they are as far as pattern panels, i will be saving myself 70 odd percent with pattern!

Let us know!

I have been fitting panels on minis for best part of 27 years now and to be honest the genuine rover panel fit was never very good anyway , minis came from the factory with odd gaps and poor panel fit
but i agree , some of the cheapest panels are an aproximate fit at the best of times
I have seen a pair of sills delivered that varied in lenth half an inch from side to side , at least the heritage panels should be consistant ! but dont expect even the genuine panels to fit straight on like you would a merc (benz) panel

Hi folks,
I agree BMH panels won't nesecerally fit like a glove what i meant was that they would be easier though i know what you mean.
We brought the panels from Somerford Mini stand as the guy on the BMH stand said it was better to buy them from Somerford as they were doing genuine BMH panels at reduced show prices so off went .Price wise we brought a whole front windscreen scuttle,2x A Panels, drivers side front wing with indicator hole for £130 unfortunatley they had run out of passenger side wings and front panels so i will be ordering them and the two little scuttles that are right up under the front wings scuttle closing panels i think they are called as they have dissapeared nearly.
Once they are here we have a friend who will do the welding for us so i wil let you know how i get on.

Does any one know the size of the rubber over flow hose that goes from the petrol tank out of the boot floor as i need one, back of car smells of petrol every time you fill up cheers and keep up the good work
