was never really interested in bike engines in minis before - but after reading this months miniworld - i really want one!!!

i know this might sound a silly question - ive done a search and nothing has come up.

do you hae to use an R1 or hayabusa engine or can you use any other types of motorbike engines? if so which ones?

and also what cc are the R1s and busa engines?

just curious really

thanks

the R1's a 1000cc engine, the busa engines a 1300cc, im 90% sure any motor bike engine can be used as long as its gona be powerfull enough to move a mini shell!!!

Yamaha r1s and the hayabusa are water cooled which makes life easy compared to air cooled engines.
In my opinion the r1 and hayabusa are more reliable than the likes of honda blackbird and the zx12.

There is also the GSXR1000 engine which is a bit more powerful than R1 but they cost quite a bit more...

Im glad i have inspired you, Get up to z-cars for a demo, you wont look back, they will of course fit any power plant you wish to power your mini.

Cheers
