Right Im going to fit the temp sensor into an adaptor from car builder solutions. Am i right in thinking it goes in the top hose on the rad? Or is this not that important?

Also Where did you lot fit your fan switch and which switch did you use? Im assuming its not the standard car (87deg on & 82deg off) switch as the r1 engine runnin hotter? I see there is what looks like a temp switch attatched to the rad already? Can that be used?

cheers
Dean

Hi dean,
I put the temp sensor in the top hose near the thermostat as it gives the highest reading there.
Placing the sensor near the rad will read cool if you get an air lock where as the engine could be boiling its brains.
You still need to retain the original r1 sensor for the ecu.(if your engine has one)
I used the switch that came with the z-cars rad for the fan.
Also try and keep the expansion tank as high as possible, Mine is now mounted on top of the engine after a few problems.

About 95 at the moment and stops the fan after 3 minutes when its at idle. I had problems at first with air locks when the temp went over 115. I mounted the tank in the same place as the dvd, jacked the rear of the car up and bled the top hose on the rad. Set off to This place and it started to boil, he looked at it and said i would need the tank much higher. Few cable ties to get back home without any problems. The horizontal type tanks look right for the job if you don't already have one.
