I imagine the kit will be roughly the same price as the current Honda engined kit, but its the fact that the engine will cost around £500 rather than £2500 that will make it a cheaper project to complete.

And you can use the origional exaust manifold, and that will save you another 1400 (???) pounds from the kit......

I'm waiting for the first kits to be complete..... Thinking of supercharging an B16 engine.....

yer - reckon the whole thing could come in under the £8k mark which would be awesome for something quicker and more fuel efficient than any A-series ringer.

I would love to own a B16A v-tec mini. I have been looking in to the K20 and the engine is a little expensive. I hope the kit will be ready by the time i come back to the uk in 20 months (long gap year).

Hi, just wondering if this was ever made and what would happen with the gear shifter linkage? As they exit the back of engine and therefore if it was in the back it would be out the boot  O_O

Yes it was. This is my own car featured.

I understand mine was the only non-K20 VTEC undertaken by Z Cars.

OK THAT SOUNDS GOOD TO ME WE WILL BUILD THE KITS FOR b16 AND b18 ENGINES
ID BEEN LOOKING AT VERY LATE MODEL ONES CAN ANYONE TELL ME ARE THERE ANY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE EARLY AND LATE ENGINES ETC
MY MAN WHO DOES THE HYDRA IGNITIONS USED TO BUILD THE ENGINES FOR HONDA TOURING CAR TEAM A FEW YEARS AGO AND TELLS ME BIG POWER IS NO PROBLEM
IF B16 ENGINES ARE £300 THEN A NICE MINI IS GOING TO BE RELATIVELY CHEAP
WE WOULD STILL DO THEM WITH THE FRONT SUBFRAME AS PART OF THE KIT SO THE ROLLING CHASSIS WOULD BE TOP SPEC STUFF WHICH WOULD LEAVE ROOM TO UPGRADE THE BRAKES AND POWER LATER IF YOU WANTED TO
ITS ALSO EASILY POSSIABLE TO SUPERCHARGE THESE MOTORS TO GET REAL NICE TORQUEY POWER FROM THEM WHICH WOULD EXCEED THE TYPE R POWER
IF ANYONES GOT A MOTOR OUT THERE AND WANTS TO BE THE FIRST WE WILL DO THE KIT AT THE NORMAL COST BUT THROW IN A FEW GOODIES TO SWEETEN THE DEAL
I COULD DO WITH A B16 REALLY AS I HAVE A B18 ALREADY
CHRIS

Have a look on the 16v mini forum on facebook they do Honda engines all day long all types. I think they would jump at the chance.
