Just got in, after trying for 2 hours to try and get the blasted throttle cable into the tiny hole it is meant to go into in the bulk head. It is as though the tip at the end is too big to go through but the old one did, so there is no reason why this one shouldn't.

Is there any special way it is meant to go through?

lots of bulkead holes to choose from boss i seem to remeber, have done a few of these and never had a problemo. see if you are using the correct hole. Is the outer bit of the cable in situ?

There is a bit of a knack to this, but once you have learned it you can do it in a couple of minutes. Just make sure the hole is clean both sides and push it in nice and square. Don't be afraid to lift away the breathers and clutch slave (don't disconnect the hydraulics and make sure the gaskets are ok after) and stuff to get better access, and do it through the front panel not the bonnet. I don't think you can pull the core out of the MPi cable, but with the carb cables the easy way was to install the casing from the engine bay and then slide the core through from inside.
