I have just resprayed some different areas of my clubby and am currently flatting back and polishing my new paint. It looks great if I do say so myself.
I have heard that I can do the same flatting and polishing process on the old paint to bring it back to former glory and match the new paint. It seems wrong and a bit scary to take the wet and dry to the original older existing paint.
Is this possible????? I am using 1500 grit and g3 compound.
old to new.

do you have a small inconspicuous area to test it on first???? depends on how thich the paint is. May be worth while just trying the G3 and rubbing a small area for a good few minutes and see what happens.

also, an even finer grade of flatting paper will work well and not take too much off. 1500 is suprisingly abrasive!
