Carpets, OMG!!!! :)

Dont you start lightweight!!!
I had it weighed at the local weighbridge last weekend and it came in at 620kgs
So going by the last one i built which came in at 580Kgs this one has full glazing, window winders, Side impact protection bars still fitted inside the doors and a full bulkhead so there must be at least 40-50Kgs in that lot but it means a bit of expense to remove it at the moment.
At least i know where all the weight is.
The Red Zcars racer weighed in at 542Kgs if i remeber rightly after the last race at Oulton park.

Cheers

Is the harness bar braced to the tunnel, as per the SD one, or is it simply a straight bar between the cage legs with the eyelets welded in?

Hi Mark, why was the harness bar a pain to fit ? Does it have to be slotted in from the bottom then moved upwards ? or will it go in diagonal ?

I have just got some cds to make mine.

The harness bar just goes between the main hoop legs.

Koss, As the main hoop is tapered from the bottom-top, and the clamps are shaped to wrap around the hoop, the bar is made to exact length to sit in the required posistion, so i had to remove the bulkhead side panels which were all bonded in, (Easy fit really on a new build) and then slot the bar in diagonally which only just clears the cam cover then move it up to the height.

Cheers

mark cheers for reply, I think I will go for some machined ends that hinge and bolt up with a couple of allen bolts.
I am not taking the bulkhead out. A bit like the fittings on bus safety rails but in steel.

Thanks To Gr4h4m for donating the screw adaptor to fit my camera.
I will go a do a few test runs soon to see if it suffers from too much vibration???

Yesterday i also did a wedding convoy for the chairman of our local mini club WWW.MINIADDICTS.CO.UK Running behind the stretched mini Limousine they had hired from Dereks mini centre and a few other club members cars aswell.

It was a shame the weather was a little wet but it didnt spoil the day.

It is quite dosile to drive to be honest (Even the wife will drive it) but it will bite you if you press too hard in the wet!!

It sounds like you need to alter the pedal ratio for your throttle as the bike only neds a small omount of cable travel whereas the car pedal moves quite a bit so Zcars do a conversion to get around this but you could make this up your self.

You can just see it here in my old car build, a simple lever which pulls the bike cable at the bottom.
Let me know if you want the maeasurements as you maybe able to fit this in yours or cut your throttle pedal and move the pivot/hinge higher up towards the cabe fitting???
