replaced the valve stem oil seals

i baught a head kit, and changed the oil seals, all went well, but id only gotten 4 seals in the kit, so......i replaced all the inlet seals., do i need to worry as much about the outlet seals? is it worth doin those too??

i always do all of them although if you're guides are in good condition its not strictly necessary on the exhaust valves, just out of interest what type of seals did you use the rubber o-ring ones (poo ones) or the proper ones with a spring?

they have a spring around the out side. they are the same as the ones i removed

Exhaust seals are not installed on an engine in good shape because it is an unlikely path for oil to leak into the combustion chambers. On a high-mileage engine it is done as a stop-gap measure to control oil burning unitl you can rebuild the head. You can install oil seals on the exhaust valves of a rebuilt head if you want but they shouldn't be necessary.
