Hi everyone,

I have got some metro 4 pot callipers. I hear it is possible to put metro 4 pots on normal 8.4 solid disks on mini hubs. If so, how?

I think, not too sure, but was looking at a set of 4 pots last night...

They have a spacer between the two halves of the caliper, which make the gap wide enough to fit the vented disks, one assumes if you remove the spacer then they will fit a standard non-vented disk... also I think you need the caliper bolts which were fitted to the ERA turbo, as that used the metro 4 pots on mini hubs..

Also you'll obviously need the Metro to mini 4 pot conversion brake hoses since metro calipers have 2 hoses going into each caliper!

There are two types of caliper for the metro and to use solid disks you will need the early type which use solid disks, As far as i know you can't fit solid disks to a vented caliper because the disk is too narrow.
If you've already got the vented calipers then it would probably be easier to use vented disks as the early metro calipers are like hens teeth!

Philsters right. You also need ERA Turbo caliper bolts.

DO NOT split the caliper to remove the spacer

Done a little research...

To convert you will need to retain the Metro Calipers, disks and drive flanges, and the remaining parts are the minis (including the hubs).

The difference between the bolts is that the Mini ones are Imperial in diameter with an UNF thread, where as the Metro's are Metric, the ERA bolts are Metric in diameter with an UNF thread tapped...

Also if you want to fit any wheels other than Metro items when using Metro drive flanges, you will need to get the flanges faced to remove the wheel aligning lugs if they are present and make sure the studs fitted are suitable.
