Hello Z car guys,

I was wondering if all of you guys with tubular front frames could hook me up with a lot of photos regarding its construction. I have gathered about half a dozen decent overall photos, but i need more with increased detail. I want to develop my own tubular front subframe for an A-Series application. I have a background in engineering, so pictures will be more than enough for me to develop a good product. Images of the joints, tubes, etc from different angles would be appreciated.

Thanks, Paul

Paul, that really is an outragous request, lol.
if you want the satisfaction of designing your own front frame ,you really need to do a lot of thinking for yourself,
ask yourself, [engineerring backgroud aside] do you understand how suspension and its associated components work and what there job is,???.

i'm sure Zcars wouldn't want you copying their design, and they do post on here so would know about it.

if you want one for an A series engine they do sell one

If you need pictures of what it looks like etc and copying what z-cars has spent thousands designing and testing then i dont think chris would be too happy about it as would if you were to copy a force racing front subframe.
Why dont you just save yourself a lot of time and possibly a serious accident and buy the real thing. Im all for doing stuff yourself where you can but it comes a time when your messing about with major components which could fail and end up injuring or killing a person.

Regards

Sorry for any misinterpretations, its not that i wanted to copy Z-Cars design. I was more interested in the approach they took with the minis geometry, etc. That way when i hit the drawing board i know what is generally possible. My front frame will be for a turbo application, so i want to make plenty of room in certain areas for a rad, etc.

Sorry again,
Paul

Anyone serious about making their own subframe for a mini should have the standard item complete with suspension, hubs, and possibly even the wheels sat in front of them. Then you can work out where mounting points are, etc etc.

If you need a front or rear subframe, complete or bare, let me know, I have a few.

Otherwise, have a look at the vids on Z Cars website.
