I'm converting me 1979 C.E to an SPi setup and I'm currently sorting out the wiring. My question is this:

Where are the fuseable links that are shown in the wiring diagrams and what are there ratings? :errr:

Yes, I have done a search :alien:

The fuseble links are about 6" after the alternator/ battery connection in the main power feed to the rest of the car/ injection system. They are underneath the protective sleaving. As for what they look like or the ratings, I dont know as ive never had a problem neccesitating looking at or replacing them.

I have the engine loom for the Spi, on the main starter concetion there is plastic sleeving about 6" long which has braided wires underneath. Is this what you are talking about? Feeling the wiring under the braiding I can't detect any kind of fusing. Or do you mean on the main battery cable between battery and starter?

There are many styles of fusible links.
It may be as simple as a short piece of wire that is a little different then the rest.
Most, like the GM style I use will have a small plastic tag that gives the amp rating.
People mistake the tag for the actual fuse link.

But some may not even have a tag.

I run 2 circuits on my systems. 1 for the fuel pump and 1 for the rest.
Each one will operate on a 15amp fuse.

Here are some of the GM large ones.
Note the wire at the beginning is different. That is the fuse.

Remember you're not looking for a conventional replaceable fuse in a holder or anything like that. It's just a section of loom which is fusible. Part of the wires themselves.
